Tetarteron (Gold, 19mm, 4.02 g 6), Constantinople. +IhC XIC RCX RCGNΛNTIhm Bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, with cross nimbus having a pellet in each arms, his right hand raised in benediction within his cloak and, with his open left hand, holding book of Gospels. Rev. +CωnSTAnT bASILEuS RM Crowned facing bust of Constantine IX, wearing jeweled chlamys with pearl collar, and holding a labarum-tipped scepter in his right hand and a globus cruciger in his left. DOC 6. SB 1833. A very attractive example, very nicely struck and centered on a broad flan. Extremely fine.
