BRITISH COINS, Scotland, Charles I, Silver Thirty-Shillings, third coinage (1637-1642), Falconer's issue, type V, the King on horseback left, with grass groundline, beaded circle and legend surrounding, initial mark thistle with leaves, rev inverted die axis, crowned quartered shield of arms, Arms of Scotland in two quarters, beaded circle and legend surrounding, two thistles over crown, initial mark thistle head, 14.60g (Bull 21 (scot); S 5557). Toned with a patina from the River Thames mud, good very fine for issue and a very rare variety.
