BRITISH COINS, Commonwealth, Silver Shilling, 1652, 2 struck over 1, no stop after THE, English shield within laurel and palm branches, initial mark sun, legends in English surrounding, outer beaded circle both sides, rev shields of England and Ireland, with value above, all within beaded circle, date and legend surrounding, 5.77g (ESC 985A/986; Bull 112; N 2724; S 3217). Darkly toned with a patina from the River Thames mud, good very fine.
