BRITISH COINS, Victoria, Gold Proof Maundy Fourpence or Groat, on a thin flan, 1838, young head left, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:, toothed border surrounding both sides, rev struck en medaille, crowned figure 4, date either side, oak wreath surrounding, edge plain, 1.57g (Robinson 394; cf Bull 3480 (part); cf Davies 1400 (part); cf ESC 2447 (part); cf S 3916). Small tone spot on top of head on obverse, three small tone spots on reverse, hairline scratch across cheek of Queen, otherwise good extremely fine, toned and extremely rare.
