THE ALFRED FRANKLIN COLLECTION OF ANCIENT COINS, GREEK SILVER COINS, Macedon under the Romans (c.167-149 BC), Silver Tetradrachm, diademed head of Artemis facing right, with a quiver over shoulder, at the centre of a Macedonian shield decorated with seven eight-pointed stars within double-crescents, rev MAKEΔONΩN / ΠPΩTHΣ above and below a club right, a monogram above, all within an oak-wreath, thunderbolt on left, 16.09g, 3h (AMNG 163; cf SNG Copenhagen 1310-5; cf SNG Ashmolean 3290ff). A few marks, very fine.
