THE ALFRED FRANKLIN COLLECTION OF ANCIENT COINS, GREEK SILVER COINS, Ionia, Ephesos (c.180-67 BC), Silver Cistophoric Tetradrachm, struck c.150-140 BC, cista mystica, with serpent emerging, all within an ivy-wreath, rev two serpents entwined around a bow-case, EΦE and a bee on left, a cista mystica surmounted by a serpent on right, 12.77g, 12h (Kleiner & Noe, The Early Cistophoric Coinage, ANSNS 14 (1977), series 28; SNG von Aulock 7837; BMC -). Well-struck and extremely fine.
