A COLLECTION OF AKSUMITE COINS, THE PROPERTY OF A EUROPEAN COLLECTOR, Wazena (early 6th Century AD), Copper (2), Ge'ez legend l'Hzb zydl ('May this please the peoples'), draped bust right, wearing head-cloth, holding wheat stalk (one topped with cross), other with triangle of pellets after legend, rev Ge'ez legend zwzn zngs ('of Wazena, of the king'), cross crosslet with inlaid gold centre, superimposed on small cross (AC 120, 121; H 70). Very fine, one chipped. (2)
