A COLLECTION OF AKSUMITE COINS, THE PROPERTY OF A EUROPEAN COLLECTOR, Armah (early 7th Century AD), Silver, Ge'ez legend ngs 'rmH ('King Armah'), crowned and draped bust right, with gilding on crown, holding cross on staff, wheat stalk ending in cross to left, small cross behind neck, rev Ge'ez legend shl wslm ('Mercy and peace'), arch supported by two columns, Greek cross above, inlaid with gold, two smaller crosses on staffs at sides, a gilt circle suspended under the arch, 0.87g, 11h (AC 151; H 71). Slight chips to edge, good very fine.
