THE COLLECTION OF A CLASSICIST, BRITISH COINS, Charles I (1625-1649), Silver Halfcrown, Tower Mint, group I, type Ib, King on horseback left, holding sword over shoulder, plumes on horse head and behind King, beaded and linear circles and legend surrounding both sides, initial mark blackamoor's head (1626-1627), rev plumes over quartered shield of arms in frame, 14.30g (Bull 64/7 (3-16); Brooker 291; N 2203; S 2767). Cleaned with some porosity, flan flaws, scratch on obverse, rim chips, otherwise almost very fine and an extremely rare variety, only one example traced by Bull.
