BRITISH COINS, Celtic, Cantiaci (1st Century BC), Sam (c.1-10? AD), Silver Unit, wreath type, uninscribed, beaded cross with pellet centre and split ends, lobe in each inner angle, two opposing outer angles with four pellets and raised line beyond, other two opposing angles with two opposing crescents and annulet either side, rev Griffin like creature left with head turned back, S type tail, annulets surrounding, 0.88g (ABC 372; cf Rudd list 97.15; VA -; S -). Pleasing very fine, toned, this the other example to that recorded in ABC, extremely rare.
