Anonymous Folles. temp. Basil II & Constantine VIII, circa 976-1025. CU Follis (22mm, 2.04 g, 6h). Local eastern imitation, possibly struck by Kievan Rus. Half-length facing bust of Christ Pantocrator / + IhSЧS/XPISTЧS/Ь]ASILЄЧ/ЬASILЄ in four lines. Cf. DOC p. 670, Class A2 (Variety 42a); cf. SB 1813 (both refs for prototype. Fine, rough brown patina, flan slightly bent. Rare.
