Crowned and draped bust left within quatrefoil / + MAΛ TAÐ ΛN M O LIN, voided long cross with triple-crescent ends and pellet at center; all over quatrefoil. Mossop pl. XXXVI, 27 (dies A/a); SCBI 14 (Copenhagen), 1752 (same dies); North 781; SCBC 1157. VF, find patina. Matethan is an Old Irish name and unusual on Anglo-Saxon coinage.
