SCOTLAND. Alexander III. 1249-1286. AR Penny (18mm, 7h). Second coinage, Class Mc2. Struck circa 1280-1286. Crowned head left; lis-tipped scepter before / Long cross pattée, with 24 points on mullets in quarters. Burns 50 (fig. 198); Burns & Steward 17; SCBI 35 (Ashmolean & Hunterian), 233-4; SCBC 5055. In NGC encapsulation graded XF 40 (Incorrectly identified as SCBC 5050). Toned.
