UNCERTAIN EAST. Late 4th - early 3rd centuries BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 16.22 g, 9h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; И in left field, Δ or A below throne. Unpublished in the standard references. Good VF, lightly toned, traces of find patina, a few light cleaning marks.

The obverse appears to have been influenced by the early Alexander types from Babylon, while the revere is more closely related in style to the early issues from mints in Cilicia and Phoenicia. All of these prototype issues were from the circa 325-315 BC period, suggesting an early date for this issue.
