Chancay Serpent Vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. A nice Chancay olla with loop handles from Peru, ca. 1100 -1450 AD. It is 5-3/4" high and is decorated with a serpent motif painted in black and red over cream slip. Intact, with good paint, heavy mineral deposits, trails and evidence of extensive usage. Ex Gallatin estate. Value range: $400 - $500.
