Popayan, Colombia, 1/2 decimo, 1875, fineness 0.666, encapsulated NGC AU 58. Nearly full luster and surprisingly well struck for this mint and type (still somewhat crude as from reworked Bogota dies with designer's initials AB removed), almost never seen in this quality. Acquired from Alvaro Gonzalez, ca. 1973-1975.
