Ecuador (struck in Philadelphia), copper-nickel 2-1/2 centavos, 1917, encapsulated NGC MS 64, tied for finest known in NGC census, ex-Gilman. Finest specimen known to us (tied with two others at top grade in NGC census) of this scarce post-WWI issue (one-year type), with choice strike and very light rainbow toning, no wear at all, very rare in anything close to this quality as usually affected by humidity in Ecuador. Pedigreed to the Glenn Gilman collection.
