Scottish copperplate engraving by W.H. Lizars entitled "STEAM NAVIGATION" (Plate CXVI), printed in Edinburgh by A. Constable & Co. in 1824, showing side views of steam-driven wooden sailing vessels, including the City of Glasgow, matted for framing (blue). 13-1/2" x 11-1/4" (image size 9-1/2" x 9"). Highly detailed images of two ships, the one on top being towed by a steam-driven paddle-boat ("J. Hulls' steam boat"), in excellent undamaged condition.
