San Luis Potosi, Mexico, cap-and-rays 8 reales, 1868PS, rare provenance. 26.94 grams. Lustrous (polished) AXF with no corrosion at all, a few small cuts and nicks on or near rims, very nice for shipwreck salvage and one of very few coins available from this wreck. Pedigreed to our Auction #6, with lot-tag #676, and with photo-certificate from the salvagers, and pedigreed to the Thomas Gray collection and formerly displayed at the ANA Money Museum's "Treasures of the Deep" exhibit (2014-15), also pedigreed to our Auction #11, with original lot-tag #625.
