France. Louis XVI (1774-1791). Uniface medal, "La Nation a conquis son Roi" 1789 by F.Andrieu. ( tin - 129.6g - 80mm). Design No.2 by the designer Andrieu, H. 61; TN XIII, n°2; Jul. 53. Very interesting. Unifaced with the Storming of The Bastille in the now named Place de la Concorde, angry mob and arrival of the King into Paris on 6th October 1789. Beautiful patina. Extremely fine. this is possibly a prototype for the actual bronze coated later versions, and is RARE.
