MILITARY MEDALS, Campaign Medals & Groups, An Egypt Campaign Pair, comprising Egypt Medal 1882-89, dated, single clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (12517 Gunr. J. Bartram N/2 BAE (very indistinct) R.A.), engraved naming, Khedive's Star 1882, un-named as issued. Clasp slightly loose on suspension of Egypt Medal, very light pitting from Star, about very fine, toned, the Star polished, good fine. (2)
Gunner James Bartram was born May 1855 at Aylsham, Norfolk, he enlisted 29 June 1876 at Newcastle on Tyne aged 21 years and 1 month. 19 July 1877 Awaiting Trial and Imprisoned; 28 July 1878 Deserted – tried and imprisoned. Married Sarah Entwistle 18 October 1884, Discharged Colchester 29 June 1888. Served overseas India December 1879 to December 1880 and Egypt August 1882 to October 1882. Sold with copied service papers.
