SICILY, Abakainon. Circa 430-420 BC. AR Hemilitron (10.5mm, 0.27 g, 6h). Laureate and bearded head right / Boar standing right; acorn to right; ABAKA in exergue, [IИA above]. Unpublished, but cf. HGC 2, 10 = NAC O, lot 1247 for litra of this type. VF, toned, some chipping along edge.

These types are typical for 5th century litrai of Abakainon, but is previously unknown on hemilitra. Stylistically, this issue is comparable with the later issues, circa 430-420 BC, but it may have been struck earlier.
