Uncirculated; choice and a dramatic broadstruck flan; rare thus.John Hampden (1594-1693) and Algernon Sidney (1622-1683) were stong proponents of freedom later cited by American colonial patriots. An American college in Virginia is named after them. Lord Stanhope (Charles) was a supporter of Tooke, Hardy and others protesting for free speech during the reign of George III.
