BRITISH COINS. Victoria, 1837-1901. Gold Half Sovereign, 1842, London. 4.00 g. 19.3 mm. Mintage: 2,223,352. Marsh 416, S.3859. Unusually well preserved early date Victorian half sovereigns. Due to being more used in circulation than full sovereigns, the half sovereigns are considerably harder to find in higher grades. Extremely fine.
