Ostrogoths in Italy, Athalaric, c. 526-534. Gold Solidus (4.42 g). Minted in the name of Justinian I at Rome. Helmeted and cuirassed bust three-quarter facing, holding spear and shield. Reverse: Victory standing left, holding long cross; in left field, star. MEC 1, 122; MIB I, plate 37, 28. Rare. Slight crease in flan. About Extremely Fine.
