Great Britain. Pattern Shilling, 1799. Forrer Vol II, pg. 170; Stainton-31b. Silver. 26 mm. George III. Issued by Colonel William Fullarton, produced by John Milton, amd restruck probably by Matthew Young. Obverse exquisitely detailed draped and cuirassed bust of George III left, no signature below, but M in relief on truncation. Reverse, struck en medaille features four crowned cruciform shields, plumes in angles. Edge plain. Evidence of usual die rust marks on obverse, beautifully toned in shades of dark gold and aquamarine. One of Britain's most iconic patterns. NGC graded Proof 65. Estimated Value $900 - 1,000
