WORLD COINS, CHINA, 'Cash' Coin Sword, reduced size, with imitative coins, bound with red string, 270mm, 19th Century. Overall in excellent condition.
The purpose of a coin-sword was to drive away evil. They were a form of talisman used in southern China to ward off evil influences, especially those causing fever.
