Republic silver Specimen Pattern 50 Cents Year 3 (1914) SP40 PCGS, obverse die signed by L. Giorgi, KM-Pn27, Kann-655a, L&M-68. This example has clearly seen some time in trade, but remains rare nonetheless and is unusual in that it exhibits no signs of cleaning after the sharp-eyed collector that originally recognized it as a pattern plucked it from circulation. The surfaces are attractively toned and appear wholly original.
