George III Fort Cornelius gold Medal 1811 UNC, Calcutta mint, East India Company, BBM-37, 74.15g, 51mm (not including gold suspension). Looped as issued. Obv. British Attacking Fort Cornelius. Rev. Persian legend in circle, JAVA CONQUERED XXVI AUGUST MDCCCXI around. Fully lustrous, with bold definition and no significant flaws other than the suspension attachment. Appears to be a possible very early restrike, with some minor die rust. Ex. Lawrence A. Adams Collection.
