China Commercial Bank of China 1 Tael 15.1.1920 Pick A134p Face Proof and $1 15.1.1920 Pick 1p Back Proof. The God of Fortune is in the center vignette of this bank, the first private bank established with Chinese capital. The bank was formerly known as the Imperial Bank of China, until the establishment of the Republic of China. Heavy embossing as expected on American Bank Note Company products are seen, along with bright original colors. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63, small tears. While a series of Tael notes were issued with the same date, a series of dollar denomination notes were also put into circulation. What note was issued depended on the type of currency deposited, and this era was a time of transition between the two currencies. Intaglio embossing remains sharp. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64, small tears.

Estimate: 500-800 USD
