Part of a very rare Syrian denarius issue combining the Roman obverse legend of 193 with II COS added at the end of the reverse legend. This exact CERER FRVG II COS coin is missing from the standard reference works, but Barry Murphy shows two specimens from the same dies on his Severan Denarii website (nos. 200-201), and two others, also from the same dies, are mentioned in the thread "Obv. of 193 and II COS on rev." under Roman Coins in the Forvm Ancient Coins online discussion group. .
