Head of the deified Arsinöe II right, veiled and wearing stephane and rams horn; lotus-tipped scepter in background, k behind, rev. APΣINoHΣ ΦIΛAΔEΛΦoY, Filleted double cornucopiae, grape bunch hanging from each side. Svoronos 475, Troxell pl. 7, 3, Boston MFA 2268, Pozzi 3223, BMC 10. Rare early issue Arsinöe II K-type Oktadrachms were struck at various times from the reign of Ptolemy II to Ptolemy VIII. Most are later issues done in coarser style, this coin is in fine style and issued during the reign of Arsinoe IIs husband, Ptolemy II Philadelphos. Good Very Fine.
