Northern Greece (?), Uncertain Mint. Circa 450 BC. Obol (Silver, 8mm, 0.63 g). Ram's head to right. Rev. Irregular mill-sail incuse with filled quarters. Apparently unknown. An enigmatic little coin. Somewhat rough surfaces and striking split, otherwise, very fine.
From a German collection, formed before 2005.
This coin is quite a mystery. It comes from a collector who bought it out of a 'junk box' primarily composed of minor coins from Macedonia and Thrace, but with some others from Asia Minor as well.
