ISLANDS off THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 36mm, 16.46 g 12). Head of a youthful Dionysos to right, wearing elaborate ivy wreath with leaves and berries. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles, nude but for laurel wreath and lion's skin over his left shoulder, standing left, holding club with his right hand; to left, M. Le Rider 51. Struck on a very broad flan. Obverse a bit rough, otherwise, good very fine.
