Unpublished in the standard references , overstruck on a Syracusan drachm. Glossy and untouched green patina, extremely fine.

As yet, no one found a so large bronze denomination of Abakainon mint. The coinage of this Sicilian city is interesting also for the typologic paralellism with the neighbouring mints: with Alontion for the forepart of man-headed bull; with Tyndaris for eight rays star. In this beautiful and unpublished specimen, the style of the reverse die resembling to Tyndaris bronze issue with Dioskouros riding on reverese (CNS, I, 1-2).
