Central Italy Æ Aes Rude Axe Head Fragment. Circa 500 BC. Cf. Haeberlin Aes Grave, pl. 2; ICC pl. 90, 3. 80.77g, 59mm. Good Fine. From the Andrew McCabe Collection; Purchased from A.H. Baldwin and Sons, 2003. Evidently sheared off the whole due to the damaged blade, this fragment of axe head was likely re-purposed as a currency bar.
