Poland, John II Casimir (1648-68), 4-Ducat, 1655, 13.39g, Thorn, ioan: cas:d:g: rex pol: et sve: m:d:l:r:p:, crowned , cuirassed and draped bust right, wearing Collar and Badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece, rev. initial mark star in triangle, ex. avro. solido. civit. thornens. fieri. f:, view of the city of Thorn across the river Vistula, angels with shield in clouds above, 16-hl-55 in field at low left (for mint master Hans Lippe) (F.62; cf. H.Cz.2050 for a piece of 3-Ducats), edge damaged from a mount and reverse legends re-engraved at 3 and 9 o'clock where mount removed, fine, very rare.
