John (1199-1216), Short Cross Coinage, Pennies (3), Canterbury, class 6bí2, Hivn (2), 1.44g, rev. +hivnoncante, dirt in the legends and a soft portrait, otherwise fine, 1.35g, a good portrait, but porous, nearly very fine, Walter, 1.43g, rev. +walteroncan, a flat spot on the face, otherwise nearly very fine (N.975/2; S.1354 Stewartby VIb2), the first coin has a stop before rex and a plain cross for the initial mark in place of the usual cross pattée, this variety is presumably at least scarce (3).
