Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. AV Aureus (20mm, 7.35 g, 5h). Rome mint. Struck AD 209. SEVERVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right / LI BERA LITAS, AVGG VI in exergue, distribution scene: Geta, Septimius Severus, and Caracalla seated left on curule chairs on platform; to right stands a lictor, to left stands Liberalitas, holding abacus in right hand and cornucopia in left; to left, citizen, togate, mounting steps of platform, holding out fold of toga with both hands. RIC IV 279 (same dies as illustration); Calicó 2481a (same dies as illustration); BMCRE 352; Biaggi 1080 (same dies). Near VF, twice holed, toned, some marks and deposits. Rare.
