Hesse-Darmstadt. Ludwig III 2 Taler 1854 MS65 NGC, Darmstadt mint, engraved by Ferdinand Korn, KM335, Dav-706, Thun-199. A scarce type in any grade and downright rare in this condition, this piece is absolutely superb. Soft argent tone has settled on the surfaces and is accentuated both by light iridescence and full underlying luster. Traces of softness in the strike give the appearance of cabinet friction, but do not detract from the overall appearance.From the Cape Coral Collection of Multiple Talers
