Waldeck-Pyrmont. Georg Victor 2 Taler 1856-A MS65+ NGC, Berlin mint, KM177, Dav-928, Thun-409. Above and beyond the outstanding state of conservation, the complexion of this piece really sets it apart from its peers. A deep argent-gray along the peripheries lightens towards the centers, particularly on the reverse where perhaps a collectors tag in a cabinet prevented patination. Throughout, this gray is underscored by various shades of blue and russet. All in all, a singular example of this issue that is spectacular in hand, its beauty matched by its technical grade, presently being the finest certified by either NGC or PCGS.Ex.
