Württemberg. Karl Proof 2 Taler 1869 PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, Stuttgart mint, engraved by Christian Schnitzspahn, KM618, Dav-961, Thun-442. Struck upon the completion of a restoration of the Cathedral at Ulm, this magnificent piece is certainly among a handful of the finest extant survivors of this issue. The fields are nearly devoid of any handling marks and the cameo contrast is quite dramatic.
