Bern. City gold Ducat 1697 MS64 NGC, KM62, Fr-139, HMZ-2188h. A coveted 17th century ducat, highly captivating in its design with the oft-seen Bern bear on the obverse and a striking depiction of a man and woman holding the frame for the reverse inscription. A superb strike and fully brilliant, reflective surfaces only help to compliment this astounding near-Gem. Certainly one of the finest extant for the issue and currently the single highest graded example by either NGC or PCGS.From the Redwood Collection of Swiss Coins
