Bern. City gold Ducat 1794 MS64 PCGS, KM148, Fr-180, HMZ-2215h. A stunning example of the issue, exceptionally bright throughout with dramatic prooflike surfaces that showcase light tone and are free of almost all forms of handling. Upon closer inspection, a bulge is observed at in the field near 12 o'clock on the obverse and the corresponding side, but study with a loupe confirms it as a characteristic of the die. The final and most available date of the type, but in this quality (unsurpassed in grade at PCGS or NGC), extremely important as an example of the type. From the Redwood Collection of Swiss Coins
