Solothurn. Canton gold 2 Duplone 1798 AU58 PCGS, KM61, Fr-390, HMZ-2839d. The final date of the type and considered scarcer than the 1796 and 1797 issues, with surfaces on the present example that are ideally presented for its Choice AU grade. In the fields, essentially full mirrored reflectivity remains, while the detail on St. Ursus is only slightly incomplete on the highest points. No obvious surface marks are noted on either side. Without question, a very attractive coin and for the specialist in the series, a wonderful chance to obtain this date that is our search of archived major auctions, was last sold over three years ago in a 2013 Hess-Divo auction.From the Redwood Collection of Swiss Coins
