Zurich. City gold Ducat 1641 MS62 NGC, KM60, Fr-458, HMZ-21138f. A charming early ducat of Zurich that features facing lions, symmetrically placed and engraved in an almost cartoon-like fashion, with both holding laurel branches in one hand and supporting the arms of Zurich with other other. Considering the overall evenness of the strike, and the boldness in which it was placed, an absolute certainty to be in the top handful of survivors for the date. The addition of vivid mint luster and subtle, accentuating tone only further helps to solidify the greatness of this trade issue.
