Mexico
Philip V 2 Reales 1733 MX-MF Fine Details (Tooled) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM84. Nicely detailed for the assigned grade with all details very clear and slightly smoothed surfaces on the obverse. The 2 Reales is without a doubt the rarest denomination among the Mexican issues dated 1733 with the "MX" mintmark. The cataloguer has been able to trace a handful of these 2 Reales 1733-MX coins, including an unconfirmed report of a piece with the single assayer "F". Among the few confirmed examples (all with assayer initials "MF"), the present is likely the finest in private hands (the Banco de Mexico collection has a handsome aXF coin) and most desirable as such. In terms of rarity, another of the highlights of the Rudman collection since this type was missing in Norweb, Gerber, Patterson and also the more recent D. Gray collections. From the Rudman Collection of Mexican Coins, Part III

Estimate: 1800-2400 USD
