Jose I gold 3200 Reis 1756-R MS65 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM183.2, Russo 414. A clear overdate that could possibly be 1756/5/4. Gem Uncirculated with full mint bloom and well defined details. Very minor adjustment marks are present on the obverse yet surfaces appear incredibly fresh with only the few trivial marks expected for this lofty designation. The only example of this date certified Mint State by NGC, easily the finest seen of this very rare type and in all probability the finest example extant. In fact, together with another example dated 1749-R (Heritage Auctions 4/2011, lot 23211 for $40,000), this coin ranks as the finest certified by NGC of the entire 3200 Reis denomination. Extremely rare in this sensational quality, an immensely desirable coin that should draw serious bidding interest.
