Pedro II "Azevedo Below Bust" gold 6400 Reis 1832-R AU55 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM387.2, Russo-612. The much scarcer signed die type with "Azevedo F(ecit)." below Pedro II's youthful "menino" bust. Lustrous and attractively toned with scant high-point wear and mild surface wispy marks well within the confines of the designation. Easily the finest we have offered and one of only two examples currently certified by NGC - together with an AU55 coin -, a handsome example of this rare subtype with a superb pedigree. Ex.
