Frederik V gold Ducat 1746 AU55 NGC, Copenhagen mint, KM552, Fr-264, Hede-7. Struck with gold that was mined from Guinea, this beautifully-styled selection displays the bust of Frederik V and the fortress of Christiansborg with a ship sailing in the foreground. The surfaces are attractively-toned with delicate amber color tracing the devices and the motifs are noticeably strong for the type. Other than light wear across the higher features and minimal evidence of handling, this exceptional offering absolutely captivates. An altogether scarce one-year type, rarely encountered at this level of preservation, and currently the second-finest certified example by NGC.
